NASHVILLE – Homicide Unit detectives are charging David Lamont Clark, 18, with criminal homicide for the overnight fatal shooting of Heather May Probst, 33, inside her apartment at 1325 12th Avenue South. A neighbor found Probst dead from a gunshot wound to her head at 2:35 a.m. Probst’s infant daughter was asleep in a nearby bedroom and was unharmed.

While conducting the on-scene investigation, Homicide detectives saw Clark on foot wearing clothing matching the description of that worn by a man seen on surveillance footage leaving Probst’s apartment around the time of the murder. Clark was detained and brought to police headquarters. During an interview, Clark admitted to shooting Probst during an argument. He provided information on the location of the gun, which has now been recovered.
