ATLANTA — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations, at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) arrested a Camden, New Jersey man Saturday who was wanted on a felony arrest warrant.

The 60 year-old man, who was preparing to board a flight to Managua, Nicaragua, was wanted by the Camden County Prosecutors Office for two counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault.

CBP officers verified the validity of the warrant and confirmed extradition. CBP officers arrested the man and turned him over to United States Marshals Service for extradition.

“We continue to work closely with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of our citizens,” said Carey Davis, CBP Port Director for the Area Port of Atlanta. “CBP remains committed and vigilant to return fugitives to these wanting jurisdiction to face their charges.”

CBP examines flight manifests and sometimes encounters passengers in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database with outstanding arrest warrants. NCIC is a centralized automated database designed to share information among law enforcement agencies including outstanding warrants for a wide range of offenses.

On average, CBP arrests 22 wanted persons every day at air, land and sea ports of entry across the United States. View CBP Snapshot to learn some of what CBP achieves ‘On a Typical Day’ at our nation’s 328 ports of entry.
