New York Man Arrested For Making Terroristic Threats Against Casino

On January 15, 2018 State Police in Waterloo responded to Del Lago Casino in the Town of Tyre for the report of a person trespassing on casino property. Responding Troopers located Scott C. Furey, 47, of Walworth, NY sleeping on a couch inside of the casino hotel lobby.

Casino security advised police that Furey had previously been banned from the casino in June 2017 after casino officials learned he was engaging in fradulent gaming activities. Furey was initially arrested and charged with the class B misdemeanor of Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree. While Furey was being processed at the Waterloo State Police barracks, he made several verbal threats to return to the casino property after his release and commit acts of violence in retaliation for his arrest.

Due to the nature of these threats, Furey was additionally charged with the class D felony of Making A Terroristic Threat. Furey was arraigned at the Town of Tyre Court and remanded to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond and is set to return to court at a later date.
