Camden, N.J. – A Bellmawr man is facing numerous charges after he fired a gun at police and the bullet went through a neighbor’s home where a child was sleeping, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Bellmawr Police Chief William P. Walsh.
Logan Vancamp, 31, of Bellmawr, faces charges of first-degree Attempted Murder, second-degree Aggravated Assault, second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, fourth-degree Aggravated Assault and fourth-degree Criminal Mischief.
Bellmawr Police officers responded to a home on the 100 block of Catherine Ave. shortly after midnight on March 28 to a report of a man pointing a gun at two others. The three responding officers said Vancamp pointed a handgun at them and fired a single shot before dropping the weapon and laying down on the driveway.
After investigating, police found the bullet went through the bedroom of a neighboring home before stopping inside the bathroom.
Vancamp was taken to the Camden County Jail and is awaiting a pretrial detention hearing.
