NASHVILLE, TN. — North Precinct detectives today arrested a 27-year-old North Carolina man after he showed up at General Hospital with superficial scratches on his hands and said that he had tried to kill his mother and she might be dead.

Based on Jack Walker’s account, and the discovery of his mother’s 2016 Jeep in the hospital parking garage with a bloody shirt on the passenger seat, the MNPD contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina and asked that deputies check on Cindy Walker’s welfare. She was found deceased in her residence with apparent trauma.

North Carolina authorities swore out a homicide warrant against Jack Walker. He is charged here with being a fugitive from justice. He is expected to be returned to North Carolina in the coming days.
