NYC: Bitterly Cold Temperatures and Strong Winds Expected Tonight and Tomorrow

The warmest temperatures of the day will be this morning, temperatures will drop throughout the day with bitterly cold temperatures expected tonight and Tuesday. Temperatures will warm up during the week, but will remain below freezing until Thursday. There is a system that may bring light snow Thursday night into Friday morning, no significant snowfall is expected.

Temperatures
The highest temperatures of the day will be early this morning before starting to drop in the late morning. Temperatures will continue to drop this afternoon through the mid-30s. Overnight low temperatures will drop to between 5 and 8 degrees with wind chills of negative 15 degrees. Cold temperatures will continue on Tuesday with a high of 10 degrees and wind chills near negative 10 degrees. Overnight temperatures on Tuesday night will be a low of 5 degrees with wind chills of negative 10 degrees.

Temperatures will start to warm up on Wednesday with a high in the low to mid 20s with wind chills in the teens. Overnight temperatures will be in the lower 20s with wind chills near 20.
Thursday’s high will be in the mid 30s with overnight lows near freezing.
The high on Friday will be in the upper 30s and high temperatures will remain above freezing through the weekend.

Winds
Winds this evening will pick up to 25-30 with gusts of 50 MPH possible through the day on Tuesday. Winds on Tuesday evening will decrease to under 30 MPH with gusts of 35-40 MPH.
Winds on Wednesday will be 15-20 MPH with gusts of 25 MPH. Winds Thursday will be light at 5 MPH.
