Frankfort, Kentucky – Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort is investigating a break-in at the Simpsonville Police Department. KSP Post 12 was notified of the break-in at approximately 1:00 a.m. on November 06, 2015 by the Simpsonville Police Chief. An unknown person or persons entered the police department, broke into evidence lockers and stole approximately $30,000 in cash, an unknown quantity of narcotics and handguns.
Simpsonville PD Officer Terry Putnam age 54, of Simpsonville is charged with Burglary 1st, Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $10,000, Theft By Unlawful Taking Firearm (2 counts), Criminal Mischief 1st, Theft By Unlawful Taking Controlled Substance, Official Misconduct, and Tampering With Physical Evidence.
The investigation is still on going by the Kentucky State Police.
