FULLERTON, CALIFORNIA — NEW RELEASE: On December 21st, 2016, Fullerton Police Officers responded to an out of area hospital regarding a possible sexual assault of a 5 year old female that occurred in Fullerton.
As a result of the initial investigation and subsequent follow up investigation by FPD Family Crimes Detectives, Rigoberto Arevalo Cubias (2/21/1986) has been identified as a suspect in the crime of engaging in sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child under the age of 10 years old, in violation of California Penal Code Section 288.7.
Cubias is an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador and he may be in possession of a fraudulent California Driver’s License. Cubias has a prior, outstanding $50,000 arrest warrant for a DUI from 2014 under the name “Jose Cubias”. He has multiple “aka’s”, including Jose Cubias, Jose Cubias Arevalo, Jose Riberto Cubias, and Jose Alfonso Cubias Arevalo.
Cubias is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 5’7”, 185 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.
Detectives believe that Cubias now knows he is wanted by police and he is on the run from law enforcement. He has discarded his previously owned vehicle and cellular phone in what Detectives believe is an attempt to elude capture.
The Fullerton Police Department is encouraging anyone with information on Cubias’ whereabouts to contact FPD Detective Carin Wright at (714) 738-6754. Those wishing to provide information anonymously can call Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1(855) TIP-OCCS or go to www.occrimestoppers.org.
