One Case Of Norovirus Connected To Buffalo Wild Wings In Kansas

One case of norovirus related to an investigation at Buffalo Wild Wings in Kansas has been confirmed.

The investigation was related to an illness that affected around 10 people who ate at the restaurant in Overland Park in Kansas.

Johnson County Department Of Health Released a statement saying: ‘These types of illness are common this time of year.

‘The best thing you can do is wash your hands properly and stay home when you are sick to prevent the spread of these types of illness.’

‘Additional results are pending lab confirmation. There have been no further reports of illness.’

Local officials have confirmed that Norovirus is one of the most common cause of food disease outbreaks within the United States and usually occurs in hospitals and cruise ships.

The company closed the restaurant for cleaning after news broke of the illness.

It later reopened the next day after a meeting with the health department.

A company spokesperson for Buffalo Wild Wings said:  ‘We are monitoring the situation and will continue to work closely with the health department until their investigation is complete,’ the spokesman said.
