OLKAHOMA – More than 75 rounds were fired during a shootout in Tulsa Sunday evening and not a single person was wounded, police say.

The following is a summary of event provided by the Tulsa Police Department: Around 6:30 p.m., officers were called out to 6000 S. Newport as multiple callers reported shots being fired in the area. The initial caller said that 8-9 black males in black clothing and ski masks were shooting at the entrance of Savannah Landing.

Officers set up a crime scene stretching an entire block down Newport Ave. from 60th to 61st. Officers found four vehicles with multiple bullet holes. Two homes had also been hit, one had multiple children inside. The people in the homes were very fortunate as nobody was shot by the barrage of bullets.

Witnesses say an argument started in a driveway, the verbal argument escalated and led up to the shooting. The shooting continued to the apartment complex entrance, then the suspects fled east on 60th Street.

Our Crime Scene Unit found and recovered more than 75 shell casings at the scene, many were of different calibers.

Even though dozens of shots were fired, we have not received a report of anyone getting hit.

The investigation is ongoing.
