Police Arrest Texas Man at Airport for Soliciting Sex, Grooming Seattle Child Through Social Media App

The Seattle Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (SPD ICAC) was notified of a case involving a local 12-year old girl whose mother discovered that she had been communicating with a male via a social media app who had been grooming her.

The victim sent images to the suspect as a result of his grooming efforts and he told the victim that he was planning to come to her for the purpose of having sex.

The SPD ICAC detective was able to identify the suspect as living in Bryan, Texas and during the investigation confirmed that the suspect had plans to come to Washington State to meet and have sex with the victim. The detective worked with the Texas ICAC who was able to arrest him after determining that he went to the Houston airport possibly in advance of traveling to Washington State.

The suspect gave a full confession on his criminal activity and evidence was recovered including the images of the 12-year old victim. The suspect will now face criminal charges in Texas.
