Police: Attempted armed robber shot, killed inside Myrtle Beach home

Myrtle Beach, SC – Officers are investigating a shooting that occurred on Monday around 6 pm at a home in the 500 block of 34th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach.

Responding officers located two injured people at the home. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment. One person has died, and his name was not released.

The second person sustained non life threatening injuries.

Police say that “the deceased entered the home with a firearm with the intent to commit armed robbery. He and the other person knew each other previously, and there was no evidence of forced entry into the home.”

During the armed robbery attempt, the deceased suffered a gunshot wound.
