FRANKLIN, Tennessee — At 2:45 Thursday morning, and for reasons unknown, a suspect driving down I-65 in Franklin fired a gun at another vehicle carrying six Illinois residents. Three adults and three children (11 months, 12-years-old, and 17-years-old) were on their way to Alabama. They were traveling on I-65 S near Cool Springs Boulevard when the shooting occurred.

The suspect vehicle is a light-colored Dodge Charger or Challenger, with blue stripes across the hood and trunk areas of the car, in similar style to the graphics on the sample cars.

The suspect shot into the rear passenger window of the victim’s vehicle. The bullet passed through the car and struck the driver’s side rear window. Amazingly, no one inside was hit. The 11-month-old baby was treated after being cut by flying glass. The injuries were not serious.
