Police: Man Killed Wife In NY Home Before Turning Knife on Himself

WEST BABYLON, NEW YORK — Suffolk County Police Homicide detectives are investigating an incident in which a woman was found dead inside her home and her husband was also found there with serious self-inflicted injuries yesterday.

First Precinct Patrol officers responded to a 911 call at 316 Sheffield Avenue, West Babylon yesterday at approximately 2:25 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Sonja Williams, 32, dead and her husband, Kerwyn Jaggernauth, 31, with serious injuries inside their home.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Jaggernauth was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
