Police: Man Armed With ‘Large Rock’ Robs Convenience Store

NASHVILLE, TENN. — South Precinct detectives are asking for help in identifying a market robber who attacked the clerk with a large rock before grabbing the store’s money. It happened at 8:20 p.m. Thursday at Marley’s Market, 141 Lafayette Street.

The robber entered the market and walked around before asking the clerk about an item in a glass display case. When the clerk went to retrieve the item, the robber pulled out the rock, jumped behind the counter and began assaulting the clerk. He then took money from the store and fled. The clerk was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his face, arm and side.
