On Sunday morning, cops were called to the 4100 block of southwest 45th Avenue to investigative the shooting death of Edward Olivarez Jr. Homicide detectives interviewed several witnesses and a 26-year-old victim.

Police say the victim “was found to have injuries on his head and face, he had also been tied with zip ties and duct tape placed on his mouth.” The victim reported he had been beaten, tied up and robbed at gunpoint by Olivarez and others inside an apartment.

He was able to free himself and while trying to escape the apartment encountered Olivarez. The robbery victim shot Olivarez then fled the apartment while screaming for help. The victim was treated at a local hospital before he was released.
