West Norriton, Pennsylvania — Brian J. Whiting. Whiting, 41 years of age, of Pottstown, was arrested after an investigation into an incident that occurred at Walmart on South Trooper Road, in West Norriton Township.
On May 19, police responded to the Walmart for a reported child luring. Police were told a suspect solicited a juvenile male for sexual favors near the bathroom inside of the Walmart.
The victim provided police with a physical and detailed clothing description of the suspect and his direction of travel. Whiting was found in the vicinity and identified by the victim. Investigators later collected video surveillance that corroborated his account. The video surveillance depicts Whiting entering the Walmart on more than one occasion and wearing different clothes.
Whiting was arraigned in front of D.J. Marc Alfarano in East Norriton on the charges of; Luring a Child into a Motor Vehicle or Structure, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Criminal Attempt at Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child, Criminal Attempt at Indecent Assault of a Person Less than 13 Years of Age and Corruption of Minors. Whiting was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in default of $100,000.00 cash bail. His preliminary will be on June 28th in front of D.J. Alfarano.
