Lumberton, NJ — Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Lumberton Township Police Chief Nick Peditto announced that a 33-year-old woman was charged after she was found last night passed out on top of her 13-month-old son, who was pronounced dead a short time later.

Antoinette King, of Dove Court, was charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Authorities were called to the home yesterday at approximately 8:30 p.m. on a report of an unconscious adult female and an unconscious infant male. The preliminary investigation determined that a relative inside the home discovered King lying on the toddler and called for help after finding them both to be unresponsive.

King was administered Narcan, but her son, whose name was Jerimiah, could not be revived. Both subjects were transported to Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly, where Jerimiah was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing. An autopsy will be performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.

The investigation is being conducted by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lumberton Township Police Department. The lead investigators are BCPO Detective Tony Luyber and Lumberton Police Detective Kevin Wright.
