Police: Teen Injured by Exploding Target at Firing Range

VERMONT — On Sunday, around noon, Vermont State Police was notified of an incident at the Eden Firing Range, located on White Road in Eden, VT, in which a person had been injured.

The injured man, who was later identified as Philippe McKay, age 19, from St. Albans, VT, was transported by ambulance to Copley Hospital in Morrisville, VT and later brought to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT for a non-life threatening shrapnel wound.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a large group of people had gathered at the range and participants were shooting various objects, which reportedly included explosive targets, on the range.

During this time, some type of an explosion reportedly occurred and shrapnel injured the victim.
