Prince George’s County, MD — Detectives are investigating a homicide inside of a Forestville home. The victim is 38-year-old Sonya Harris of Pennsylvania Avenue in Forestville. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
On December 30th, 2017, at 5:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 6400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue for a welfare check. Once on scene, they discovered Harris in her bedroom unresponsive. She was pronounced dead on the scene and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. An autopsy revealed the cause of death was trauma to the upper body and the manner of death was homicide.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
