Possible ISIS threat made against Hargrave Military Academy
Chatham, VIRGINIA — Federal and local officials are investigating an Islamic State-linked threat against the Hargrave Military Academy.
The threat, reportedly made on social media, prompted heavy security at the facility. An Open House scheduled for Saturday was also cancelled.
From WSET: “The school’s president, Gen. Broome, said that someone sent a direct message to one of the school social media accounts, making what the school perceives to be a threat linked to ISIS. He said the threat came in at noon on Tuesday.”
“We have contacted the appropriate authorities,” Broome said, “and they will be increasing their presence on campus. Plans have been made to ensure the safety and security of our cadets, faculty, and staff.”
No further details were available.
