Queens: Car Hit 5 Students; 1 Traumatic Arrest Reported

Authorities are on the scene of an out-of-control car that struck five children in Maspeth, Queens Thursday morning.

The incident happened at 71st Street and Grand Avenue in Maspeth around 7:50 a.m.

EMS confirms six injuries, including the driver. All the students are reportedly students at IS 73Q, Frank Sansivieri Intermediate School, which is in the vicinity. PS 58 The School of Heroes is also nearby.

At least one of the victims was in cardiac arrest, but it is unknown if it is the driver or one of the pedestrians.

One other victim suffered a serious leg injury and was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, officials said.

The other victims, all ages 12 and 13, are in serious but stable condition.
