The Los Angeles Police Department is mourning the duty-related death of Police Officer II Esmeralda Ramirez. She passed away over the weekend after a surgery related to an on-duty traffic collision that occurred in 2015.
“She joined the Department in 2008 and was a valued member of Pacific Divsion where she worked in a variety of assignments,” the department said in a statement. “Her commitment to her follow officers and this Department is only eclipsed by the love she had for her family. She is survived by her three adult children.”
