Deltona, Florida — On Sunday morning, a blue Honda hatchback fled from a Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety officer who attempted a traffic stop for speeding. The vehicle also fled from the Port Orange Police Department and the Daytona Beach Police Department en route to I-4, where it was spotted by Air One overhead.
After fleeing across I-4 toward Deltona, the driver lost control of the car, which had deflated tires due to successful stop stick deployments. The car crashed into a ditch, and the driver, Kevin Morales, 24, was taken into custody, charged with multiple counts of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless driving, no valid drivers license, and attaching a tag not assigned.There were no injuries in the crash, and Morales’ passenger was released with no charges.
