PROGRESO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Field Operations officers at the Progreso International Bridge arrested a former Texas teacher returning from Mexico yesterday, after learning she had an outstanding warrant for a second-degree felony charge of Improper Relationship between Educator and Student out of the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.
“CBP officers are committed to protecting our country and communities as they remain vigilant in intercepting travelers with outstanding warrants,” said Port Director Walter Weaver, Progreso/Donna Port of Entry. “I commend our officers for this noteworthy apprehension.”
The apprehension occurred on March 7 at the Progreso International Bridge. CBP officers conducted a primary examination on a female pedestrian arriving from Mexico and referred her to secondary inspection for further examination due to a possible match to an outstanding warrant.
In secondary, a subsequent biometric verification utilizing national law enforcement databases confirmed her identity as 24-year-old Aracely Sauceda, a United States citizen from Santa Rosa, Texas, wanted in Burleson County on an outstanding warrant for Improper Relationship between Educator and Student, a second-degree felony. CBP officers turned the former Caldwell High School teacher over to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office for adjudication of the warrant.
