EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande Valley Sector arrested several criminal aliens attempting to illegally enter the United States.
On Wednesday, August 30, 2017, agents assigned to the Weslaco Border Patrol Station arrested a male Salvadoran national near Pharr, Texas. During processing, record checks confirmed he was a member of the 18th Street Gang, a notoriously violent Los Angeles street gang comprised primarily of illegal immigrants.
On Thursday, August 31, 2017, McAllen agents apprehended a Honduran man near Mission, Texas. Record checks revealed he had previously been arrested by the Clay County, Florida Sheriff’s Office and charged with unnatural and lascivious act/molestation of a child. He also had an active warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service.
That same day, agents in Rio Grande City encountered a Honduran national illegally present in the United States. Record checks revealed he had previously been arrested by the Nassau County, New York Police Department for 3rd degree rape of a victim less than 17 years old. He was found guilty of the charge and sentenced to a six year order of protection with time served.
On Sunday, September 3, 2017, Falfurrias agents apprehended a Mexican man who had previously been arrested by the Isanti County, Minnesota Sheriff’s Office for criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping of a victim more than 24 months of age. No disposition was listed for the charge. All subjects are being processed accordingly.
