A faculty member was fatally shot at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Monday, WRAL reported.
The college was under lockdown as officers searched the campus. Students were asked to shelter in place and residents were advised to avoid the area. The ‘all clear’ was later given.

The suspect, identified as Tailei Qi, was taken into custody hours later. The staff member who was killed was not immediately identified and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. We are awaiting a press conference from police.
