Vice Principal at San Jose High School Arrested on Child Molestation Charges

CALIFORNIA — The San Jose Police Department‘s Internet Crimes Against Children task force arrested 35 year old San Jose Resident Jose Gonzalez for ‘Annoying or Molesting a Child under 18 years of age (Misdemeanor)’.

The suspect, who is the Interim Vice-Principal at James Lick High School , had an inappropriate relationship with a 17 year old student enrolled at James Lick High School, police said. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Preliminary investigation revealed that on January 29, 2016, staff at the school were made aware of allegations the suspect Gonzalez was engaging in inappropriate behavior with students at the school. During the schools internal investigation a 17 year old student (victim) disclosed she had an inappropriate relationship with the Suspect Gonzales in July or August 2015 at his home in San Jose.

San Jose Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)/Child Exploitation Detail (CED) conducted follow-up investigation’s and obtained an arrest warrant. On February 2, 2016 at approximately 5:00 P.M., ICAC/CED investigators located and apprehended the suspect at his residence in San Jose.
