Weather experts have said that the snow could be as much as 30 inches deep in Washington and will be coupled with winds over 50 miles per hour.

A total of eight people have been killed in car crashes in north Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee as a result of the bad weather.

Southern States have already been blanketed with 8 inches of snow which began falling at lunchtime.
