TEXAS — Two separate Syrian families were detained at the Texas border and later turned over to ICE.

The migrants “presented themselves” Tuesday at the port of entry, DHS said.

The two men, two women, and four children were taken to the South Texas Family Residential Center in Diley, Texas.

The two men were taken to the South Texas Detention Center in Pearsall, Texas.

11Alive reports: “The Department of Homeland Security said both families presented themselves to officers at the port of entry. There has been no information about the circumstances when the family presented themselves to officials.

DHS and Customs and Border Patrol said no further information would be provided due to privacy issues.”

There was no indication the two Syrian families had ties to terrorism, officials said.

Earlier today we reported that six middle eastern men were caught at the Arizona border.
