MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas — On Sunday December 29th, 2019, Titus County Sheriff’s Office deputies and investigators were called to the scene of a home on Private Road 2321 in response a report of a child having been shot by a pellet rifle.
Authorities found at that time, that 8 year old Logan Blackwell had received life threatening injuries from an air rifle. While the victim was being transported to Titus Regional Medical Center, investigators began to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Young Logan later died from his injuries. Authorities say that a “significantly powerful” pellet rifle had been involved.
The incident remained under investigation through today and information learned by investigators led them to make an arrest. A 16 year old girl was arrested on Thursday for the felony offense of Manslaughter.
