Tennessee Authorities Investigating ‘Brutal Murder’ Of Counselor At Therapy Center

Melissa Hamilton, 50

NASHVILLE — Madison Precinct detectives are investigating what they call a ‘brutal murder’ of Melissa Hamilton, 50, inside her workplace at Crossroads Counseling, 521 Gallatin Pike South, where she was the assistant director.

Hamilton facilitated a group counseling session Tuesday night at Crossroads which concluded at 7:30 p.m. It was not uncommon for her to conduct individual counseling following the group session.

Hamilton’s husband contacted police at 6 a.m. after he awoke and found that his wife had not returned home. Responding officers found Hamilton’s body a short time later inside the business with obvious signs of trauma.

The medical examiner will determine her cause of death.

Hamilton’s vehicle, a Ford Focus, was found parked near the front door of the business.

“She was funny and loved,” her husband, Jack , told The Tennessean. Adding she had no known enemies. “That’s why we can’t figure out what happened.”

Anyone with information about Hamilton’s murder is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
