NASHVILLE — Madison Precinct detectives are investigating what they call a ‘brutal murder’ of Melissa Hamilton, 50, inside her workplace at Crossroads Counseling, 521 Gallatin Pike South, where she was the assistant director.
Hamilton facilitated a group counseling session Tuesday night at Crossroads which concluded at 7:30 p.m. It was not uncommon for her to conduct individual counseling following the group session.
Hamilton’s husband contacted police at 6 a.m. after he awoke and found that his wife had not returned home. Responding officers found Hamilton’s body a short time later inside the business with obvious signs of trauma.
The medical examiner will determine her cause of death.
Hamilton’s vehicle, a Ford Focus, was found parked near the front door of the business.
“She was funny and loved,” her husband, Jack , told The Tennessean. Adding she had no known enemies. “That’s why we can’t figure out what happened.”
