Texas Trooper Seizes Over 118 Pounds of Marijuana

AMARILLO –The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop Monday on IH-40, yielding over 118 pounds of marijuana valued at over $716,000.

At approximately 1:29 p.m., a DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Hyundai Elantra traveling eastbound on IH-40, for a traffic violation, near Amarillo in Potter County.

The occupants of the Elantra were identified as Teuta Hajdini, 31, of Dearborn, Mich., and Adelina Dedvukai, 27, of Farmington Hills, Mich. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered the marijuana in the trunk.

Hajdini and Dedvukai were placed under arrest for possession and delivery of marijuana over 50 pounds but less than 2000 pounds, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Potter County Jail. The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Tempe, Ariz., to Dearborn, Mich.
