Thousands Gather To Honor Fallen Fargo Police Officer Jason Moszer

Thousands of people have gathered to attend the funeral of a police officer who was shot in line of duty in Fargo.

Police officer Jason Moszer, aged 33, after he was shot during a standoff with a domestic violence suspect on February 11th.

Hundreds of police officers filled the Scheels Arena in Fargo for the ceremony on Monday.

The chief of the Fargo police said during the funeral: ‘We have a hole in our hearts that we don’t know how to fill.’

As Moszer’s casket was carried out of the arena, Bon Jovi’s “Wanted: Dead or Alive” played.

‘I can tell you from experience, the only thing that comes easy today is tears.

‘They release the ache. They release the hurt. They release the emptiness. They release the anger that is within us.’

After the ceremony ended, a 21-mile procession transported the beloved office to a private funeral for his family.

Minnesotan and American flags were flown at half-mast, after Governor Mark Dayton issued the order.

Officer Moszer was shot shortly after midnight on February 11th while responding to a disturbance.

He died later that day.

The suspected shooter was identified as 49-year-old Marcus Schumacher, he was found dead inside his home before dawn.
