LAREDO, Texas – In a joint enforcement action, U.S. Border Patrol, Webb County Constables Office (WCCO), Webb County Attorney’s Office (WCAO), and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) closed down a stash house harboring a large number of individuals in south Laredo.

The incident began during the late evening of July 28, when agents assigned to the Laredo South Station received a report about a possible stash house in the 4700 block of Chibcha Court. Agents, along with WCCO, WCAO, and TPWD conducted a knock and talk at the residence which resulted in the apprehension of 52 individuals, including three juveniles.

The individuals were in the United States illegally and from the countries of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. All were taken into custody pending investigation.

Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew Hudak said, “The identification of this stash house and the arrest of 52 subjects came as a result of teamwork and collaboration between multiple federal, state, and local agencies. As our community takes every precaution to stop the spread of COVID-19, smugglers continue to pack large numbers of aliens into tight locations, putting them, our neighbors, our agents, and our medical systems at risk. Our agents and partners will continue to work hard to protect our community from a wide array of threats, including COVID-19.”
