HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. — Around 9 a.m., during a routine vehicle inspection, Security Forces detected “some potentially explosive material, which caused the base to put response actions in place,” officials said.

Those actions included a closure of the base’s Vandenberg (Rte 2A) Gate and evacuation of several nearby base facilities.

There are no injuries, and responders are investigating the situation at this time.
