Twitter went down for users worldwide Thursday afternoon. The outage hit around 12:45 p.m. ET and service has since been restored.
Users logging on were met with the message, “Something is technically wrong. Thanks for noticing—we’re going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon.”
The tech giant later said an “internal configuration change” was the cause.
