A 32-year-old FedEx driver fatally shot a would-be robber on the city’s Northeast Tuesday evening.
The incident unfolded around 7 p.m. in the 600 block of Unruh Avenue — in the Lawndale neighborhood.
According to local media, a gunman shot the delivery driver in the stomach before the employee fired back, striking the suspect several times in the chest.
The suspect was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
The unidentified driver is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and they are not yet ruling out other suspects.
