ODESSA, Texas – On May 3, Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Midland Station arrested 13 undocumented aliens, and two United States citizens after a brief vehicle pursuit in West Odessa.

Midland agents first observed a suspicious white suburban headed east on Interstate 20 west of Odessa. Agents attempted to stop the suburban, but the driver quickly sped away. Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers joined the pursuit as the vehicle neared Odessa.

After driving several miles, the suburban exited the interstate at Exit 108 and entered a local gas station where the driver and the passenger jumped out and fled the scene on foot. Both were apprehended shortly after and determined to be United States Citizens from Alabama. Of the 13 undocumented aliens in the suburban, 10 were from Guatemala and three were from Mexico. The group of undocumented aliens is believed to have entered the country illegally near Presidio.

The case was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations Midland Office for further investigation. The two United States Citizens will be charged with Alien Smuggling. The suburban was seized by the Border Patrol.
