WATCH: Florida Man Pulls Out Grenade at Bar Before Being Tackled By Good Samaritan

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – On Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at approximately 9:26 pm Wilton Manors Police Officers contacted an emotionally disturbed male at the Corner Pub located at 1915 North Andrews Avenue, Wilton Manors, Florida. Initial reports indicated that the male possibly possessed a grenade and firearm. Wilton Manors Police Officers had the patrons and staff evacuate the business for safety.

The emotionally disturbed male exited the business with a customer who escorted him to the ground before being taken into custody by law enforcement. A search of the male revealed an inert grenade. No firearm was located on the subject.

Wilton Manors Police Officers determined that the male was intoxicated and in need of mental health services. The male told police officers that he was distraught by the recent deaths of close friends. The male was subsequently transported to a facility where he could be provided with the needed services.

After canvassing the area law enforcement deemed the business safe for patrons to reenter.
