An outbreak of tornadoes, some potentially long-track and violent, remains likely today into this evening over portions of northwest Texas into western and central Oklahoma. More isolated but still potentially dangerous severe weather, including tornadoes and destructive winds and hail, remains possible in surrounding parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas.

Multiple areas of increasing severe thunderstorms are expected through the early/mid-evening hours. Initially, semi-discrete storms from far eastern Oklahoma into western/central Arkansas could pose a severe/tornado risk, while other storms will continue to move east/northeastward across northeast Oklahoma, southeast Kansas, and southwest Missouri. A more widespread damaging wind and continued tornado risk could evolve later this evening, particularly across northeast Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri.
