Authorities arrested fundamentalist church leader and self-proclaimed “prophet” Samuel Bateman on August 28 in Flagstaff, Arizona. The FBI alleges that Bateman leads a polygamist religious group in the Arizona-Utah area and has at least 20 wives, most of them minors. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office said Bateman was arrested after he was found transporting multiple underage girls in a squalid trailer.
