ORLANDO, Fla. – Investigators say they have identified two of the three suspects involved in a shooting with law enforcement.

They are now charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

The incident happened on Tuesday, September 21 at South Lakeland Avenue and Jacobs Place.

Two officers in clothing marked “Police” happened to pull through an intersection where 3 armed males were on bicycles. The officers were not looking for these individuals.

Police say the 3 suspects opened fire on the vehicle, and officers had to return fire from inside the vehicle.

“Right now, we’re kind of puzzled as to how this happened. Again, the officer simply pulled up — and as they tried to make contact before they could get out of their car, there are shots that went into that vehicle that they were in,” Police Chief Orlando Rolon said.
