West Virginia Governor Declares State Of Emergency

Governor Earl Ray Tomblin has declared a state of emergency in West Virginia due to this weekend’s upcoming snowstorm.

The declaration was announced on the state’s Facebook page that provides update and information about the storm.

As a result of the state of emergency, state resources have been activates to ensure the safety of the people in West Virginia.

The governor issued a state of preparedness, this allows the National Guard and other agencies to ready resources if they are needed.

Large amounts of closures have been prompted by the winter storm, included the Charleston Town Centers.

TheĀ Charleston mayor has said that all nonessential employees are being sent home.

Officials have said that the state of emergency does not close roads or restrict travel.
