Police arrested a man from Texas last week after alert staff members at a Whataburger restaurant reported that he was present at the establishment with a young girl, and the situation appeared to be suspicious.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department received a 911 call from the fast food chain’s employees on New Boston Road, shortly before noon on Tuesday, according to a Facebook post on Friday.

The post stated that the employees reported that an older man and a juvenile girl were eating together, and the situation seemed inappropriate. The police responded to the call and began investigating the matter.

As they dug deeper, they discovered that the man in question was 79-year-old Michael Clark, and the 13-year-old girl barely knew him.

Police say that Clark had allegedly offered the girl money in exchange for sexual favors earlier that day and had touched her inappropriately during a previous encounter just weeks before.

The fast food chain did not respond immediately to a request for comment.

Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Clark’s arrest, and he was taken into custody on Wednesday on charges of indecency with a child and solicitation of prostitution.

He is presently being held on a bond of $225,000.
