NASHVILLE, TENN. — Midtown Hills Precinct detectives this morning charged Cleveland Lamont Bell, 45, with criminal homicide for Saturday night’s fatal shooting of his wife, Tonya Davis, 42, inside their 1021 Southside Court residence.
Officers responded to the scene at 9:45 p.m. after a male friend, who was with Bell, reported that there had been a shooting and that he was driving Bell back to the scene. Davis was found in the front entryway with a gunshot wound to her head. Bell surrendered to officers when he arrived.

During an interview with detectives, Bell admitted to shooting Davis during a heated argument. Bell is being held without bond pending a hearing.
