CLAYTON COUNTY, GA — The Clayton County Police Department has identified the woman found dead on the side of the interstate Sunday morning.
The victim is 30-year-old Cormella Thomas.
“The Men and Women of the Clayton County Police Department extend our deepest condolences to Cormella’s family, friends, and loved ones,” the department said in a statement.
At 10:41 a.m., Clayton County Police Officers were called to I-675 N/B near Grant Road overpass in reference to a dead body on the shoulder of the roadway.
Officers say a good Samaritan observed what appeared to be a body on the side of the road, turned around, and immediately called the police.
Police say Thomas suffered from multiple gunshot wounds but have not released details on a possible suspect.
