Five people have been rushed to hospital after a car\u00a0struck five people in Bellingham, London.<\/p>\n
Paramedics, police and even an air ambulance were requested to Bromley Road in Bellingham on Sunday morning after a Mercedes collided with a group of pedestrians.<\/p>\n
The driver was arrested at the scene at around 8:30am, on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.<\/p>\n
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: \u2018<\/b>Police were called at approximately 8.20am to reports of a car in collision with a wall and a number of pedestrians on Bromley Road in Bellingham.<\/p>\n
\u2018Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London\u2019s Air Ambulance attended.<\/p>\n
\u2018Five people were treated at the scene. They have all been taken to south and east London hospitals. We await an update on their condition.<\/p>\n
\u2018The driver of the car was detained at the scene by an off-duty police officer before being arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.<\/p>\n
\u2018Road closures are in place.\u2019<\/p>\n
