When officers asked both occupants for identification, Balderas stated that his identification had been stolen. As a result, officers directed the driver to a secondary inspection area.<\/p>\n<p>During criminal and immigration checks on both occupants, officers learned that a warrant had been issued out of Washington last year for Balderas\u2019 arrest.<\/p>\n<p>After officers confirmed the warrant, they detained Balderas until a deputy from the Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrived to take custody.
