Today, the New York City Police Department released body camera footage captured by one police officer who discharged his weapon on October 22, 2017. Two officers initially responded to a call for a male who attempted suicide at 610 West 143 Street, 6th floor at approximately 5:30 PM.<\/p>\n

During their response to this call, the officers encountered Paris Cummings, a 27 year old male, who was armed with two knives. After repeated commands, one officer discharged his firearm one time, striking Cummings in the leg, who sustained a non-fatal injury.<\/p>\n
